Israel Competition Authority approved an exemption for an arrangement between Bank Hapoalim’s application, Bit, Cal., and Electra Consumer Products, including its new retail chain, Carrefour. As part of the arrangement, Electra Consumer Products will establish a club membership which will be built and operated by Cal. and receive services from Bit.
Bank Hapoalim was represented by Adv. Mattan Meridor, Meirav Yung, and Eliran Davidson of our firm’s Competition department.
The complex agreement required in-depth knowledge of competition law, financial regulation, and banking, with an emphasis on the open banking reform promoted by the Bank of Israel and the Israel Competition Authority.
