Cooperative societies are a special type of association, based on cooperative principles. This is a unique discipline that requires proficiency in the laws relevant to cooperative societies, as well as extensive knowledge and experience in working with the specific bodies in government ministries.

Today, a trend can be noticed of disbanding many cooperative societies established decades ago and no longer fulfilling the purpose they were established for, or of association members wishing to dissolve it for various reasons.
