Michael specializes in representing all actors in the electricity sector.
As an expert in the electricity regulation, Michael represents natural gas electricity producers and renewable energy companies before the Electricity Authority, Israel Electric Corporation and NOGA – Israel Independent System Operator. Michael also provides counsel to entrepreneurs who wish to promote pioneering technologies in the electricity sector and large electricity consumers. In addition, Michael represents large companies in state tenders in various fields and tenders published by Israel Electric Corporation. As part of Agmon’s vision to provide holistic care to energy clients, Michael also utilizes and assists the firm’s departments in providing service to his clients in commercial issues, planning and construction, and litigation.
Michael has been involved in the firm’s energy department for the past year and a half. Prior to that, Michael served as legal counsel to the Electricity Authority for almost nine years. During his tenure at the Authority, Michael accompanied the main transformations in the electricity sector. He accompanied the entry of private industry into the economy, led the promotion of regulation for the integration of renewable energies into the electricity grid and took part in shaping the reform in the electricity sector and the Israel Electric Corporation. In addition to his activity in the field of regulation of the electricity sector, Michael was a member of the tenders committee for the OPC and Ashalim tenders, and accompanied organization-wide processes in civil service, particularly in the field of gas. Michael was also a member of the advisory committee to the CEO of the Ministry of Communications for imposing fines on licensees.
